Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a medical procedure where by a doctor who is a gastroenterologist uses a tube-like device that allows him or her to see the insides of the alimentary tract, also known as the gastrointestinal tract so as to make sure all is normal on the inside.

If the tube-like device is used to view the oesophagus, stomach and upper part of the small intestine, the procedure is called upper endoscopy or, to be more technical, oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy (OGD).

If the device is used to view the colon (large intestine), the procedure is called colonoscopy.

At MegaCare Specialized Polyclinic and Diagnostic Centre, our General Surgeon who has trained in both OGD and colonoscopy procedures brings his expertise as he uses the endoscopic device to provide as comfortable an experience as possible to our patients who may already be very anxious about the procedure. Patient wellbeing and comfort is our priority, and our experts are there to put you at ease and give you the best possible care.
